New VW with SD card. Wife picked up her new car last week. Discover Navigation fitted. Problem 1: The car has two SD card slots in the glove box. I copied a load of Flac music files onto a SanDisk 16gb card but none of these files would play - "No Playable files" - according to onscreen message. Tried a few different cards with same result.

I even converted a few files to mp3 but no different. According to VW owners manual the system will play many types of files including Flac. The 5 year old Beetle we just got rid off played these no problem. I think this is complete nonsense but I will have to get one just to prove it.

I didn't even know such things existed. If this was important then you would expect it to pointed out in the owners manual. Nothing in there about it. Problem 2 : whilst faffing around with this I noticed there was no cd player next to the card slots. Both of these are missing.

I haven't used cd's in cars now for years but that's hardly the point. I have paid for something and I haven't got it. Ditto DAB radio. So, when mailing VW about the card not working I happened to mention this and I was asked to send the link on their site where it states cd player and DAB are features of the Discover Navigation.

I did this yesterday but no response yet. Anyone got any ideas how I can get these cards to work? Last edited: Mar 15, Inked Distinguished Member. I take it the card is formatted correctly and has the right file structure set up for the car? When I used SD cards in previous Audis it needed to be set up correctly. Theseus Well-known Member. Must be a mistake including it in the spec.

Last edited: Mar 14, Is the Nav data on SD card or built in hard drive? Haven't put anything on the Sat Nav data card - don't have one. My existing SD cards which I use in my portable players don't work either. Have you just dumped them all on the SD card or have you put them in folders etc? Then in there I copied across from NAS drive.

This is how they appear on the NAS drive. Copied them over to the SD card after formatting. LXGPS said:. Click to expand How do you check that? Nothing in the handbook. Try just putting a couple of files onto the card. My old car would only play files if they were unsorted, not in folders!!
